Working With Rest Connector and URL parameters

I have spent a fair amount of time in finding out how we can pass URL parametrs  from a file dynamicaly using REST Connector and running a DSS task. I thought I should document the steps here as  I have not seen a single document that describes these in one place nor the informatica support could easily recommend the correct steps. Any one who wants to use the rest connector to a non standard sources where you would need to pass unique parameter values in successive task invocation which is scheduled through some business logic ,possibly through a java program or a script, may find this useful.

Firstly With the connector definition :

the URL parameters are to be  described in the URL parameters entry in a format where the standard "&" is  been replaced with ";"  and donot miss the ";" entry at end aswell.

Secondly it has to be witten in a file location given in the config  csv file  entry ; the file name had to be given as a full file name. On the windows machine I had to use \\ as the seperator before it was recognised by the secure agent.

Thirdly ,with DSS task , we need to define a filter that maps the REST source field of URL parameter file name to the actual location as described above.

Following are screen shots of these scenarios , donot forget to use the write parameter file setting to YES as the first time you want to write , and press TEST button to actualy write the file. I understand this has to be done when you want to change the parameter name or introduce a new one. Once the file is written ,set the flag to NO as shown , then the parameter values in the file can be changed in a background process before the DSS task is run and the DSS task will pickup the new values from the parammeter file.
