Developer Client: Extract Youtube Data

Free download

Posted by: Informatica

See how PowerExchange for DataSift can help you source YouTube content, including the title, duration, the username of the author, link to the video, plus comments on existing videos.

Overview

The mapping given in this example uses PowerExchange for DataSift to extract YouTube data.

YouTube is the world's most popular video hosting site. Some of the following statistics are enough to give you the idea about the might of YouTube as one of the data sources.

  • More than 1 billion unique users visit YouTube each month.
  • Over 6 billion hours of video are watched each month on YouTube—that's almost an hour for every person on Earth.

Use PowerExchange for DataSift to read the YouTube data from the stream into a DataSift data object through the Data Integration Service. This data source offers new YouTube content, including the title, duration, the username of the author, and a link to the video itself, plus comments on existing videos. You can load the extracted data to a target and then use the data for data mining and analysis.

Download the sample mapping that shows you integration with YouTube using PowerExchange for DataSift. For using this Mapping, you can create and use the DataSift free account. Click on the Demo tab to take a look at the implementation of this mapping.
