Posted by: Saama Technologies, Inc.

Saama has been developing and maintaining a series of Informatica PowerExchange connectors to access data from different data bases and applications.

Overview

In addition to class-leading metadata management, data discovery and data profiling solutions, Saama has been developing and maintaining a series of Informatica PowerExchange connectors to access data from different data bases and applications. Saama analyzes the requirements specific to each client and designs, develop, test, document and deliver the solution as a package to the customer.

Saama maintains and supports these connectors including upgrades and enhancements to comply future releases of the client technology versions.

Each Connector that is developed by Saama will have the following components:

  • A metadata plug-in integrating with the Informatica Repository.
  • An Informatica Client Component integrating with PowerCenter.
  • An Informatica Server Component integrating with the Informatica Server.
  • And the integration will be implemented in the Informatica Repository, Designer and the Workflow Manager.

Few of the connectors developed by Saama are listed below:

Endeca: Endeca-powered search applications are built on the innovative Endeca Information Access Platform (IAP). At the core of the IAP is the MDEX, a purpose- built, highly optimized database engine for storing and querying large amounts of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.

Saama has developed and is maintaining this series of Informatica PowerExchange connectors for use with Endeca’s IAP.

  • Loader for Typed Data: The Loader for Typed Data takes rectangular rows, builds a web service request from them, and loads the records into the MDEX.
  • Taxonomy Loader: It is typical for customers of Endeca to use a hierarchical taxonomy structure to navigate their data in the MDEX engine, where the structure is maintained outside the MDEX.

Aster Data: Is a provider of data management and analysis for larger volume data-driven applications through its MPP (massively parallel processing) architecture.

Saama has developed and is maintaining these Informatica PowerCenter data connectors which communicate with Informatica client and server technologies to access the data from Aster Database.

SAP DQM Connector: Transformation based connector which communicates with tool Data Services (Data Quality tool) from Informatica. For this Saama used the option of custom transformations.
