Overview
In a production environment where resources are scarce, identifying issues early helps managing resources very effectively. A long running PowerCenter workflow could be an indicator of potential issues (whether it is database issue or network issue). The workflow example given here uses a Timer object in conjunction with control task and notifies developers / administrators when the workflow has run beyond stipulated time-frame.
